DESCRIPTION

Heir to the Wayne family fortune, Bruce Wayne lives by day as a seemingly lavish playboy millionaire socialite, but by night assumes the role of his crime-fighting alter-ego: the caped crusader known as Batman. Throughout the Animated Series, Batman receives help from sidekicks Robin and Batgirl, as well as Police Commissioner Gordon, in protecting the streets of Gotham City from a large rogue's gallery of criminals, lunatics and nemeses.

Batman: The Animated Series, originally known as simply Batman, is an Emmy-winning American animated series adaptation of the comic book series starring the DC Comics superhero, Batman. The series is noted for being the first to take place in the DC Animated Universe. It was produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The visual style of the series is based on the artwork of producer Bruce Timm.

The most successful of the "Dark Deco" animated series of the 1990's. This series features the adventures of the Dark Knight of Gotham City as he battles the evil that inhabits the city with occasional help of Robin and Batgirl in stories that faithful to the comics in spirit and tone. Winner of 2 Emmys and 11 other nominations.
