Volkswagen Camper and Commercial was established in 2000, the same year that marked the Fiftieth Anniversary of the launch of the VW Transporter, with the strapline “For those who live their life with a van,” which soon became “Home Is Where You Park It.” Originally quarterly and subscription only, the magazine has flourished, establishing a reputation for informed and well written features, and has available in newsagents and retail outlets since 2008 as well as being a monthly publication since December 2012.
The magazine is rooted in grassroots ownership and as well as featuring and celebrating the VW bus, in all its forms, the magazine caters for all things bus related including maintenance, restoration, new products, campsite recommendations, Travel Stories, archive and promotional materials and show reports. As the title suggests it’s not just Campers that are covered, but working commercial vehicles also, including rare and quirky stuff like cherry pickers and hearses! All Five Generations are covered, reflecting the evolution of the vibrant bus scene where T4 and T5 sit comfortably alongside their classic air cooled cousins. Whether your passion is for Splitty, Bay, T3, T4 or T5, we bring you the best around and not just from the show circuit. Many of our features are buses restored by their owners to be used as daily drivers, some on a budget, some on which no expense has been spared! However, many of the buses featured also happen to be winners on the show field as well!
