SINOPSE:
Gordie Lachance (Richard Dreyfuss), um escritor, recorda quando tinha entre doze e treze anos no verão de 1959 e vivia em Castle Rock, Oregon, uma localidade com 1281 habitantes. Gordie tinha três amigos inseparáveis: Chris Chambers (River Phoenix), Teddy Duchamp (Corey Feldman) e Vern Tessio (Jerry O'Connell). Chris era o líder natural, Teddy era emocionalmente perturbado e, se Gordie era o intelectual do grupo, Vern era o mais infantil. Um dia Vern ouviu por acaso Billy Tessio (Casey Siemaszko) e Charlie Hogan (Gary Riley) comentando sobre o corpo de Ray Brower, garoto da idade deles que havia desaparecido.
