Seguendo una comitiva di turisti in visita ai monumenti della città, Valentina sente improvvisamente il bisogno di darsi una cultura e decide di tornare a scuola, con grande disappunto del marito Aristide, un salumiere dedito solo al suo negozio, al denaro e, naturalmente, alla bellissima moglie. Il collegio scelto da Valentina sembra uno di quelli ferrei; ma al contrario vi succede di tutto, tranne che di studiare: Anche Aristide, non riuscendo a stare lontano dalla consorte, escogita vari espedienti per avvicinarla, senza mai però riuscire nell'intento. Giunge finalmente il giorno degli esami, e tra gli esaminandi c'è anche Aristide, che, dietro pagamento, si è fatto inserire nell'elenco. Tra equivoci, liti, incomprensioni, minacce, nell'aula della commissione si crea un caos totale. Nel momento meno opportuno arriva in visita il ministro della pubblica istruzione e sorprende tutti in atteggiamento non molto conveniente. Il finale vede il più focoso dei professori dietro il banco della salumeria, con la preside del collegio alla cassa, Valentina tornata a casa, e Aristide sorridente a far da padrone su tutti.
Following a tour of tourists visiting the monuments of the city, Valentina suddenly feels the need to have a culture and decides to return to school, with great disappointment with her husband Aristide, a salami devoted only to his shop, money and of course Beautiful wife.
