Trama

Luciano (Silvio Orlando), insegnante di Italiano di liceo, timido, utopista e geniale, fa a tempo perso il ghost-writer per un noto scrittore, e tenta di racimolare dei soldi per ristrutturare la casa in cui vive, casa che dovrebbe essere monumento nazionale, preservato dal Ministero dei Beni Culturali, e che invece cade a pezzi. Un giorno viene avvicinato da alcuni funzionari del giovane e rampante ministro Botero (Nanni Moretti), che ha letto i suoi scritti. Conosciutolo, il ministro gli chiede di "accodarsi al suo seguito" in qualità di fabbricante di idee e discorsi per la sua segreteria politica.
