DESCRIPTION
A millionaire past his prime and his young wife arrive in Kenya circa 1940 to find that the other affluent British expatriates are living large as the homefront gears up for war. They are busy swapping partners, doing drugs, and attending lavish parties and horse races. She begins a torrid affair with one of the bon vivants, and her husband finds out and confronts them. The husband and wife decide to break up peacefully, but the bon vivant is murdered and all the evidence points to the husband.

This greatest of movies in the British genre features Ms Greta Scacchi who was arguably at that time perhaps the most beautiful woman known to man. She is by the way half German (by her mother) and half Italian (by her father)

To our knowledge this movie has never been released on DVD in NTSC format for use in the North American market which makes no sense whatsoever I submit. I had to order the DVD from Germany some years ago now I do hope they dont intend to deprive the planet of a bluray offering soon In case they do happen to delay plans for such release, here is a PAL DVD if you happen to live in Europe or elsewhere if you have an all region player perhaps..
This movie tells a great tale, has some sexy scenes (real steamy I'd say!) nice courtroom drama, and supreme British culture in the charms of Diana Calswell (Lady Broughton) as played by Ms. Greta Scacchi.
Directed by Mr. Michael Radford, also starring Mr. Charles Dance Sarah Miles, Joss Ackland, Ray McAnally, Hugh Grant and John Hurt
Its my most favorite movie offering of all that is of British culture I have to say without a doubt!
I plan to make someone rich pay Greta Scacchi all she would be owed for the sharing we do of this great movie of hers. They should have had a DVD out decades ago for the American and Australian markets and a bluray is long overdue.
