Tutto comincia nel cuore della notte, a sud di Londra, quando un misterioso assassino uccide un fattorino delle pizze davanti ai gradini di una casa. Il fatto in sé non sembra eclatante e tutto lascia pensare che possa essersi trattato di un omicidio casuale come, purtroppo, ne avvengono nelle grandi metropoli. In realtà, scopriremo che il fattorino è un profugo siriano e quello che sembrava un caso semplice finisce con l'acquisire dei contorni sempre più complessi. I protagonisti di 'Collateral' saranno gli agenti di Scotland Yard, i familiari della vittima, il killer, ma anche preti e politici: ognuno con il proprio punto di vista e una diversa posta in gioco.
