In The War - The Planet of the Apes, the new film directed by Matt Reeves, the clash between monkeys and men looms unavoidable. The first are gathered around Caesar (Andy Serkis), also protagonist of this third film of the reboot of the series of The Planet of the Apes. Caught right and melancholy, Cesare soon abandons the idea of achieving peace with the enemy faction and, to avenge the losses suffered among his fellow men, declares war on the human race. Opposite him are the armored squadrons of the ruthless colonel unscrupulously played by Woody Harrelson. The latter refuses to surrender the planet to primates, and to the cry of "we are the beginning and the end", he marches his troops to destroy them all. A handful of monkeys goes into the middle of a snowy heath in search of a mysterious fort, where someone is hiding who can determine the outcome of the conflict, the fate of the two species and the fate of the entire planet.
At the heart of The War - The Planet of the Apes is not only the story of the ineluctable battle that is being prepared between monkeys and human beings, there is also the history of the dark internal conflict in which Cesare is debated, have doubts about its principles as a monkey and begins to lose the hopes of a pssobile pacification with the human beings who have hurt him as deeply as possible. As the terror of war spreads in the heart of his family, Caesar finds himself at war with both human beings and himself for the uncontrollable rage caused by the suffering he has witnessed and for which he must give way to a new vision necessary to advance his species and bring it out of chaos.
