Steve Carell and showrunner Greg Daniels made us laugh with The Office… but their next workplace comedy should be out of this world! The two are reuniting for the upcoming Netflix series Space Force! And as the announcement video made clear, yes, it was inspired by Donald Trump’s Space Force! There are few details beyond that... but Steve Carell is coming back to series television, and that’s good enough for me!
Speaking of bosses from The Office, Ricky Gervais also has a new series to look forward to! Netflix has set March 8th as the release date for After Life. It’s a six-episode series written, directed and starring Gervais. He plays Tony, a man who decides to punish the world after his wife dies! That ‘punishment’ takes the form of Tony saying and doing whatever he wants, so prepare to laugh... and quite possibly cringe!
Betty Draper wasn’t the warmest character on Mad Men, but January Jones is giving TV motherhood another go! Jones will play Carol Baker in the Netflix figure skating drama Spinning Out! The character is reportedly a former high-level figure skater who pushes her daughters to accomplish what she never could! I can’t say for sure if it’ll be a hit, but January and figure skating DO go well together!
Perry Mason is coming back to TV! Matthew Rhys, best known for his starring role in The Americans, will be Perry Mason in an HBO limited series! This will be more of an origin story, that follows Mason in 1932 L.A., when he’s working as a down-and-out P.I.! No premiere date has been set, but all good things to those who wait!
But for those of you who don’t like to wait, here’s something you can enjoy now: our Stream This pick of the week! The Punisher seemed headed for semi-retirement after Season One of the Netflix series. But of course, old habits die hard, and a good name is a terrible thing to waste! Which is why Season Two of the Marvel series once again gives us Frank Castle in full rampage mode… and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Why can't I ever meet a nice guy like that? In the news today, Uber is developing electric bikes and scooters that can drive themselves! The idea is that these bikes will be able to return to charging stations on their own. If successful, it would address some of the biggest problems with bike-sharing programs. So thanks, Uber, for saying 'Four wheels good, two wheels ALSO good!'
WhatsApp is tackling the spread of misinformation by giving users LESS WhatsApp! The Facebook-owned messaging platform is restricting the number of times a user can forward a message, to five! Of course, you can get two hundred and fifty-six people in a WhatsApp group, so a single message could STILL reach over a thousand people, and THEY could all forward it. But overall, it should help return the platform to its best use: sexting!
Seems time-wasting isn't the only thing criminal about Fortnite! A new report has revealed that cybercriminals are using the online video game to launder massive amounts of money! Here's how it works: Fortnite has a virtual currency you use to buy items in the game. Seems people are buying these “V-bucks” with stolen credit card info... and then reselling it at a discount! Hard to know how much this is happening ladies, but the free game did generate OVER three BILLION dollars in profit last year.

No question it was an exciting game, but it could have been a lot MORE exciting. Here's Shannon to explain.
That's right ladies, I think we can all agree that this weekend's Conference Championship game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs would have been a LOT more exciting if the Chiefs had seen the ball in overtime. Actually, forget "exciting". It would have been more LEGITIMATE. But the NFL's current overtime rules were designed to end games quickly. Not to make sure the better team wins.
Here's a quick refresher: If regulation time ends with a tie score, there's a coin toss. The winner of the toss will receive the kickoff. If they score a touchdown, the game is over. Now, it's generally accepted that a tired offense has a major advantage over a tired defense. This means that the winner of the coin toss has an advantage in OT. That's not how big games should be decided! Even COLLEGE games give BOTH teams an offensive series so they each have a shot at the end zone!
NFL players take a ton of physical abuse all season, for one reason only: To win the Super Bowl. Teams should get that chance based on what happens on the field. Not on the flukey fall of a flipping coin.
So, for the unfairness and absurdity of their overtime rules and the massive effect they had on this year's playoffs, the NFL IS our Boob of the Week. Okay, also for allowing some really egregious refereeing, but that's a rant for another day! For Naked News, I'm Shannon Blake.
