DESCRIPTION

The vision of an old 8 mm movie produces memories, doubts, uncertainties in a man and a woman who faced the idea of revolution and armed political struggle in Italy in the 70s. Film talks about facts happened in 1977: the death of the students Francesco Lorusso and Giorgiana Masi, of the policeman Settimio Passamonti; at that time minister of interior was Francesco Cossiga. The facts reported have really happened, only characters are fictional. The short movie script is an adaption of a script for a feature film to produce.

После смерти почтенного отца семейства в его сейфе обнаружена 8-миллиметровая пленка с любительским фильмом: сексуальный садист зверски убивает 15-летнюю девушку. Вдова боится скандала, но хочет знать правду. Она нанимает частного детектива Тома Уэлса, поручив ему разобраться, снято ли на пленку реальное убийство или это омерзительная инсценировка. Поиски ответа на вопрос приводят Тома в мир порноиндустрии, где, по выражению одного из героев, "ты танцуешь с дьяволом, не подозревая, что дьявола изменить нельзя, а вот он вполне может переделать тебя".

Сценарий к фильму написал известный сценарист Эндрю Кевин Уокер ("Семь"), а постановщик Джоэл Шумахер ("Телефонная будка", "Охота на Веронику", "Призрак оперы") в одном из интервью определил тему картины как попытку погружения человека в самые глубины мрака. Главный герой в исполнении Николаса Кейджа стремится разобраться в истоках человеческого насилия.
