Цветной, рисованный, полнометражный мультипликационный фильм по мотивам романа Роберта Льюиса Стивенсона сделан в нетрадиционной манере - он совмещает рисунок с игровыми моментами, в нем современная музыка и песни. Все персонажи и ситуации выписаны карикатурно, с юмором, действие подано в комедийном ключе и развертывается весьма динамично. Шхуна "Испаньола" бороздит морские просторы в поисках острова, на котором спрятаны легендарные сокровища капитана пиратов Флинта. На корабле зреет заговор. Разбойники во главе с одноногим Джоном Сильвером, кажется, близки к цели...
