В суровом японском обществе проблемных сирот выбрасывают из приюта на улицу – живи как хочешь. Именно так юный Ацуси Накадзима отправился «в большую жизнь» без гроша в кармане. Умирающий с голода изгой решил ограбить первого встречного – а вместо того вытащил из реки какую-то подозрительную личность. Спасенный по имени Осаму Дадзай оказался хорошим парнем, суицидальным маньяком, ну а по совместительству - членом тайного «Агентства боевых детективов» со сверхъестественными способностями!

Да, в этом удивительном мире полно чудес, и люди, способные на них, часто не уважают закон. Как сражаться с мафиози, если они легко превращаются в неуязвимых монстров? Для этого и было создано «Агентство боевых детективов», каждый из которых и сам кое на что способен – от безупречной дедукции до силовых действий. В компании чудиков и оригиналов нашлось место и бродяге Ацуси – его способность тут пришлась ко двору, ведь милый и стеснительный юноша может с полным правом заявить – не будите во мне зверя!
