DESCRIPTION
The Addams step out of Charles Addams' cartoons. They live with all of the trappings of the macabre (including a detached hand for a servant) and are quite wealthy. Added to this mix is a crooked accountant and his loan shark and a plot to slip in the shark's son into the family as their long lost Uncle Fester. Can the false Fester find his way into the vault before he is discovered?

TRAMA
La famiglia Addams vive felici momenti di orrori e sofferenze nel suo antico castello.
Nel tenero nido familiare ci sono tutti:
Gomez e Morticia Addams (Julia e Huston), i piccoli Mercoledì e Pugsley, la nonna strega (Malina), il domestico Lurch e la Mano.
Dopo anni di assenza, inaspettatamente, il fratello Fester (Lloyd) torna accompagnato da un'androgina dottoressa tedesca.
Ma la piccola Mercoledì ha dei dubbi. E se Fester fosse soltanto un impostore, interessato ai tesori nascosti nel castello?
Tratto dalla celebre serie televisiva degli anni Sessanta, il film si avvale di un cast impressionante.
La Huston sembra nata per fare Morticia e Lloyd è un Fester perfetto.
Lui e Raul Julia si esibiscono in un duetto con le spade che è la sequenza più riuscita del film.
Purtroppo Sonnenfeld, celebrato direttore della fotografia, al suo esordio alla regia non mostra grande personalità.
