Ambientata in un mondo alternativo in cui i supereroi sono considerati dei fuorilegge, la serie trae ispirazione dalle vicende narrate nel fumetto, ma si pone come una versione al tempo stesso nostalgica e innovativa nel tentativo di aprire nuovi orizzonti, influenzati da figure politiche contemporanee.
