La nueva temporada de 'La que se avecina' llega nueve meses después del final de la cuarta y lo hace con importantes novedades. A la anunciada salida de Beatriz Carvajal se ha unido la de Antonia San Juan, que no ha llegado a un acuerdo con la cadena y abandonará Mirador de Montepinar. También Gemma Cuervo será una de las bajas de los nuevos capítulos.
Para compensar estas deserciones, Telecinco, que se encarga ahora de la producción, contará con el regreso de Isabel Ordaz en el papel de Araceli Madariaga. Su personaje traerá consigo una novedad principal: su personaje se ha "cambiado de acera" y vuelve a la urbanización con su pareja a la que dará vida la reputada actriz María Casal.
