Songbird is a media player capable of playing both video and audio files. Songbird has support for library, radio, podcast, network services and devices, music stores and web search.Songbird makes a desktop media player called the Songbird Player. Qtrax licensed the Songbird Player, added the Qtrax brand, changed the look, and then integrated the Qtrax advertising supported music download service. If you speak geek, Songbird is a software platform providing open API's to allow seamless integration of devices and services into a desktop media player using markup, Javascript, CSS and other Web developer tools. Media Importing: · Add media to Songbird by importing from your file system or iTunes.
Media Playback: · Songbird supports MP3, FLAC, and Vorbis on all platforms; WMA and WMA DRM on Windows; and AAC and Fairplay on Windows and Mac.
GStreamer: · Songbird now uses GStreamer as our main media playback system, across all platforms.
Smart Playlists: · Create dynamic playlists that automatically update based on criteria you set.
Web Browser: · Songbird includes an integrated web browser with features like bookmarking, tabbed browsing, and more.
Multi-language Support: · Over 25 completed, community-contributed localizations and growing!
Setup Assistant: · Quickly setup Songbird for the first time.
Custom UI: · Make Songbird your own by choosing from dozens of different skins feathers.
Library Management: · Browse, organize, sort and search your media.
Device Support: · Songbird's device support is limited. The Device Support wiki has additional details about what's supported. Apple iPhones, iPod Touch and Microsoft Zune devices are not yet supported.
Metadata Management: · Songbird supports reading from and writing metadata to many music file formats. We still need to support the ability to fetch additional metadata from popular lookup services.
Album Artwork: · Display the currently playing track's album art and write new artwork back to the file. We still need to support album art fetching.
Performance & Stability: · Improving the performance and stability of Songbird is an ongoing focus. Each release we set aside dedicated cycles to ensure we're making progress. Requirements:

BUGS FIXED SINCE 1.10.0b1: · An over-capacity sync operation may cause an application crash. · Songbird may crash while mounting a device. · The drop-down menus that determine how files are organized on a device are empty. · Transfer operations to MTP devices may report errors despite succeeding. · Songbird will sync empty playlists to devices · Sync operations may not transfer any tracks to a device if a previous sync attempt was cancelled. · A playlist may be duplicated on a device if it is transferred to the device multiple times through drag and drop. · It is possible to create duplicate items in the main library by editing metadata and then dragging tracks from t...
