DESCRIPTION

La storia è quella di John Dolittle (Robert Downey Jr.) un celebre ed eccentrico veterinario dell'età vittoriana. John ha perso la moglie da sette anni e ora vive in solitudine nella tenuta Dolittle, i suoi animali esotici sono gli unici a fargli compagnia. Le cose cambiano quando la giovane Regina (Jessie Buckley) si ammala gravemente e il dottor Dolittle suo malgrado si vede obbligato a partire verso un'isola remota e misteriosa in cerca di una cura. Qui ritroverà entusiasmo e slancio nei confronti della vita, imbattendosi in vecchi rivali e creature meravigliose.
Lungo questa avventura Dolittle avrà al suo fianco una giovane assistente (Harry Collett) e un fantastico gruppo di amici animali parlanti, tra i quali un ansioso gorilla (doppiato nella versione originale da Rami Malek), un'oca entusiasta ma poco brillante (voce originale Octavia Spencer), uno struzzo indifferente e freddo (voce originale Kumail Nanjian) che battibecca con un orso polare sempre ottimista (John Cena) e un cocciuto pappagallo (Emma Thompson), il più fidato consigliere e amico di Dolittle.
