DESCRIPTION
This Out of Africa (1985) style three-part movie deals with a courageous woman, who moves to Africa to flee her past. Berlin, 1914: When Katharina von Strahlberg discovers that her husband Richard had an affair with her sister-in-law Martha, she leaves him after stealing some important plans and photos of East Africa and travels to Dar es Salaam with one of Richard's business partners. In the German colony, she learns that nobody wants to employ her because of her husband's power, but she draws new courage from meeting Franz Lukas, a doctor, and Victor March, a lively Scotsman...
Sinopsis by IMDBGeorges and Anne are a couple of retired music teachers enjoying life in their eighties. However, Anne suddenly has a stroke at breakfast and their lives are never the same. That incident begins Anne's harrowingly steep physical and mental decline as Georges attempts to care for her at home as she wishes. Even as the fruits of their lives and career remain bright, the couple's hopes for some dignity prove a dispiriting struggle even as their daughter enters the conflict. In the end, George, with his love fighting against his own weariness and diminished future on top of Anne's, is driven to make some critical decisions for them both.
