1945 год, Северная Атлантика. На небольшом плоту дрейфуют немногие выжившие после торпедной атаки на больничный корабль. Перспектива замёрзнуть насмерть без еды и воды бедолаг совсем не радует, когда вдруг у них появляется надежда в виде проплывающего мимо немецкого минного тральщика. На первый взгляд судно кажется пустым, но при ближайшем рассмотрении оказывается, что там обитает нечто ужасное, и вскоре былая перспектива замерзнуть на плоту покажется не самым плохим вариантом.
