DESCRIPTION
Elizabeth "Liz" Lemon is the executive show runner for a late night sketch comedy show called "The Girlie Show", that stars her close friend and major drama queen Jenna Maroney. When GE hires a new executive vice president for NBC named Jack Donaghy, he decides to take Liz Lemon under his wing and turn around TGS, which for years has been unable to find the proper audience it deserves. So to do so, he brings on unhinged, wildly unpredictable star Tracy Jordan to turn the series into a ratings hit. But Liz soon finds out that controlling her odd ball writing staff, the NBC page program, keeping Tracy on a short leash, and getting him to get along with Jenna proves to be one disaster after another. Will TGS ever see true success? And will Liz find the right partner to get married and start a family?

30 Rock è una serie televisiva statunitense scritta e interpretata da Tina Fey vincitrice di 5 Golden Globe (tra cui quello per la miglior serie comica nel 2009) e di 9 Emmy (tra cui quello per la miglior serie comica nel 2008 e 2009).
La serie va in onda sulla rete NBC dal 2006 e racconta il dietro le quinte del programma comico di fantasia, il The Girlie Show, traendo ispirazione dall'esperienza della Fey come autrice del Saturday Night Live, dove ha lavorato dal 1997 al 2006 (come capo-autrice dal 1999 e dal 2000 anche come attrice). Il nome 30 Rock si riferisce al luogo in cui si trova il GE Building, sede degli studi televisivi della NBC, al 30 Rockefeller Plaza a New York.
La sit-com, le cui riprese si svolgono principalmente ai Silvercup Studios di Long Island City, nel Queens, New York, con alcune sequenze girate in loco al Rockefeller Center, è prodotto negli USA dalla Broadway Video e dalla Little Stranger, Inc., in collaborazione con la NBC Universal.

A partire dalla seconda stagione, tre personaggi, che erano stati guest star durante la prima stagione, sono stati aggiunti al cast fisso subito dopo il termine della sigla iniziale: Katrina Bowden : Cerie Xerox, l'attraente assistente di Liz che veste in modo provocante per la gioia degli sceneggiatori di TGS. Keith Powell : James "Toofer" Spurlock, l'orgoglioso sceneggiatore afroamericano laureato ad Harvard, che si scontra spesso con Tracy e Frank. Lonny Ross : Josh Girard, un giovane ed immaturo sceneggiatore del TGS nonché co-protagonista, noto per le sue impressioni. Esce di scena all'inizio della quarta stagione.
