Kick - Ass è un film del 2010 diretto da Matthew Vaughn. Il protagonista della vicenda è Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), un anonimo studente di New York che coltiva una sfrenata passione per i fumetti e per i supereroi. Annoiato dalla vita monotona della metropoli, Dave decide di dare una svolta alla sua vita e diventare come uno dei protagonisti che tanto ammira. Per questo, il ragazzo acquista una bizzarra tuta verde integrale su internet e si ribattezza Kick-Ass. Armato di manganelli, Dave attraversa le strade della città ma la sua prima missione non va come previsto. Dopo un burrascoso inizio, la sua carriera di supereroe decolla grazie ad un video postato sul web, che gli procura un gran numero di fans. Quando Katie Deauxma (Lyndsy Fonseca), la ragazza di cui è segretamente innamorato, finisce nei guai a causa dello spacciatore Rasul, Dave entra in azione. Durante lo scontro, Kick-Ass viene aiutato da due supereroi mascherati. Si tratta di Hit-Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) e di suo padre Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage), un ex poliziotto che ha un conto in sospeso con il malavitoso Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong). Quest'ultimo, certo che Kick-Ass stia progettando di rovinare i suoi piani, incarica i suoi scagnozzi di trovarlo ed eliminarlo. Dave, tuttavia, ha una fortuna sfacciata e ogni tentativo della gang di D'Amico si rivela un fallimento. Così, il figlio del mafioso, architetta un astuto piano: fingersi il supereroe Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) per conquistare la fiducia di Kick-Ass ed ucciderlo. Dave si troverà così coinvolto in un complotto e potrà contare solamente sugli strampalati Hit-Girl e Big Daddy...
