О фильме: Ватару Минаками провалился на вступительных экзаменах. Он так старался, был так уверен в победе, что даже не попробовал подать документы в другие ВУЗы, и вот – бесславный конец. Ватару отвержен и одинок. Его бывшие одноклассники – студенты, а он неудачник.
И тут он неожиданно получает рекомендацию в другую академию. Она находится на острове с претенциозным названием Земля Обетованная, но Ватару сейчас не из чего выбирать.
