Synopis:
Housewife Roberta Glass of Fort Lee, New Jersey, is feeling restless in her life, where she has not taken any chances, including in her marriage to home spa retailer Gary Glass, who knows what to expect in her every move, and who is more concerned about his public image with respect to his business than her. If being honest, Gary would consider her uptight. She does have a few diversions, one of her favorite being reading the personal classifieds, most specifically those written by someone named Jim whose ads are always titled "Desperately Seeking Susan".

Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction) está irresistível (Newsweek) e, em seu primeiro trabalho como atriz principal, a pop star Madonna (Evita) interpreta sua personagem de uma maneira maravilhosamente cômica (Time) nesta maluca e deliciosa comédia (Us Magazine) sobre identidades trocadas. Roberta (Rasanna Arquette), uma dona de casa entediada de New Jersey, ocupa seus dias lendo os classificados pessoais e acompanhando pelo jornal um romance entre Jim (Robert Jay) e Susan (Madonna), uma misteriosa personagem que parece levar o tipo de vida liberada com a qual Roberta só pode sonhar. Até que um dia, ela aparece em um encontro do casal na cidade de Nova Iorque...
