"There is a link between the style of the early masters and that of the innovators" asserted Schoenberg. The program of this recording seeks to prove this saying of the master of the Second Viennese School. Hortense Cartier-Bresson sets up a dialogue between the fathers of Viennese modern music and Bach. Interweaving three Toccatas, BWV 910, 913 and 914 with the Berg's Sonata, the Three Pieces Op. 11 by Schoenberg and the Variations by Webern, this recording explores the great "Classical" tradition and its inheritance.
