DESCRIPTION
This whodunit series based on Agatha Christie's crime novels and short stories, is named after its star sleuth, Hercule Poirot, a famous former Belgian policeman, who settled for good in London after the war, soon so famous as an infallible private detective that he becomes a society figure in his own right. In each episode Poirot gets to solve a crime mystery -mostly murder(s)- for a paying client or otherwise catching his attention, generally along with his faithful English sidekick Captain Hastings and/or his Scotland yard 'friendly rival' Detective Chief Inspector Japp.

Trama
n vacanza a Gerusalemme, Poirot sente parlare di una spedizione archeologica in Siria condotta dall'eccentrico Lord Boynton e da suo figlio Leonard, che credono di essere sulle tracce della testa di San Giovanni Battista. Portato a visitare lo scavo, Poirot incontra l'affascinante, dominatrice e favolosamente ricca seconda moglie americana di Boynton. Ad ogni modo, gli eventi vengono scossi dalla scoperta del corpo di Lady Boynton e dalla rivelazione della sua fortuna. A Poirot viene dato l'incarico di trovare l'assassino e, come al solito, non è corto di spospettati.
