DESCRIPTION
In Moonfall, a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler is convinced she has the key to saving us all - but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman believe her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find that they might have prepared for the wrong mission.

Moonfall, film diretto da Roland Emmerich, è un film apocalittico che racconta cosa accadrebbe se la Luna perdesse la sua orbita intorno alla Terra, a causa di una misteriosa forza che agisce su di essa. Avendo perso il suo moto di rotazione, il satellite è in rotta di collisione diretta verso il nostro pianeta, cosa che porterebbe alla fine della razza umana e alla distruzione totale della Terra.
L'ex astronauta Jo Fowler (Halle Berry), che lavora con la NASA, sembra aver trovato una soluzione al problema, in grado di mettere in salvo tutti. Peccato che mancano pochissime settimane al violento impatto e gli unici a dare credito alla sua tesi sono l'astronauta e collega Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) e un cospirazionista, KC Houseman (John Bradley).
Nonostante la poca fiducia nell'operazione proposta da Fowler, i tre sono determinati a condurre la missione.
