Il film racconta le 24 ore che precedono la mattina del 16 aprile 2019, quando finalmente l’incendio che ha devastato la cattedrale di Notre-Dame è stato dichiarato sotto controllo. Il racconto ricostruisce la sfida che hanno dovuto fronteggiare i servizi di emergenza, avvisati con notevole ritardo, le difficoltà nel trasportare uomini e attrezzature attraverso il traffico parigino congestionato e la folla dei curiosi e la pericolosa lotta di chi ha dovuto affrontare il mostruoso incendio trionfando, a fine nottata, grazie a competenza e coraggio.
