La costruzione di un ipotetico primo episodio di un’ipotetica ottava stagione a 20 anni di distanza dal finale della settima, ad opera di Ira Steven Behr (che fu showrunner e produttore esecutivo di DS9) e del team di sceneggiatori della serie riunito per l’occasione, viene intervallata da una serie di interviste ai protagonisti della serie stessa, a coloro che ci lavorarono dietro le quinte e a vari appassionati intervistati durante una convention.
