The Twin - L'altro volto del male, film diretto da Taneli Mustonen, racconta la storia di Rachel e Anthony (Teresa Palmer e Steven Cree), una coppia che ha perso uno dei figli gemelli a causa di un tragico incidente. I due decidono di trasferirsi molto lontano, dall'altra parte del mondo, e dedicarsi unicamente al figlio sopravvissuto, Elliot (Tristan Ruggeri), sperando così di elaborare il lutto e ricostruirsi una nuova vita. Nella campagna scandinava, dove vivono ora, le giornate sembrano inizialmente trascorrere tranquille e l'isolamento nella natura sembra fare davvero bene alla famiglia, favorendo la loro guarigione.
Questa pace ritrovata, però, rischia di essere minacciata dallo stesso Elliot, che sembra essere posseduto da un'entità malvagia, intenzionata a impadronirsi della sua anima. Rachel cerca di combattere contro queste oscure forze, che sostengono di non essere altro che il figlio morto, ma è così che la donna scoprirà un'orribile verità sul gemello sopravvissuto
