[Trama
Dopo il lungo letargo, l'orso Ernest si risveglia piu affamato che mai. In cerca di soldi per comprare da mangiare, la topina Celestine invita l'amico a riprendere a suonare il violino per strada, ma inavvertitamente rompe lo strumento. Il solo modo per ripararlo e allora recarsi nella terra natia di Ernest, la Charabie, dove ancora vive il liutaio che l'ha fabbricato. Ernest e Celestine arrivano cosi in Charabie, dove pero scoprono che una legge proibisce la musica e qualsiasi forma di svago. A far rispettare le regole ci pensa soprattutto il rigidissimo giudice, papa dello stesso Ernest, il quale cerca in tutti i modi di portare il figlio della sua parte. Ma chi e, invece, il misterioso eroe mascherano che sfida l'editto e spinge la popolazione a liberarsi dal gioco del potere?
