With their first self-composed album, the band Foss Doll presents the typical feeling of smooth jazz and refines the songs with a fresh and modern sound. Get It On is the result of an intense creative process in which the musicians combined their love for music with their years of experience in the music industry. Many customers trust in the quality of the band Foss Doll. The music is characterized by classy piano sounds, tight DJ and live drum grooves and funky bass lines. The casually played saxophone and vocal highlights complement the band‘s music outstandingly. On Get It On, Foss Doll presents a mix of disco, house, pop, jazz and lounge music, giving the tracks an unmistakable and own sound. From energetic tracks like “Keys And Saxy“ or “Motorway" to relaxed pieces like “Chillin‘ With You," there is something for everyone. Led by cousins Matthias and Thomas Bartylla, the album also features a number of guest musicians. Among others, the well-known smooth jazz and soul trumpeter Lin Rountree (USA) has contributed his musical expertise and gives the song „Night Flight“ a special touch. As a special feature, a booklet with the history of the band is included with the CD. In addition to photos, the booklet contains some anecdotes about the formation, tour highlights as well as the history of the band‘s development and describes the cousins‘ roles as musiconomists. When asked about the special situation during the pandemic, Foss Doll says, „For many musicians, the last three years have been extremely challenging. Not only was the source of income gone due to the lack of events, but creative work was also affected by the contact restrictions.“ Foss Doll adds, „Meanwhile, we are back on stage. People crave social contact and community experiences. While there were and are many digital offerings, they can‘t replace a live experience.“ — allaboutjazz.com
