Episode 1 is the old sub, redone from the ground; episode 2 is new.
I regret everything, but my conscience can't afford a project to be hanging on me with a "dropped" status on AniDB.
I half-assed episode 1 back in 2020 (with nevertheless unexpected results: ), holding this series as my pet project ever since then due to how it beckoned me with it uniqueness and nerdiness. Now, with full OG manga on my hands, this prospect finally seemed feasible, but then... the manga and anime turned out to have less in common than what I would have liked, often only sharing separate scenes or even lines, randomly scattered all over the 4 volumes.
I'll try to release this series as one big blob, the same way I did with Futari no Lotte (speaking of similarities, also no keyframe snapping for VHS reasons here), even though I may or may not have overestimated my abilities, because each episode takes me 4 to 5 times longer to sub than what an episode of Lotte took. After just two of them with 4-lines-long sentences full of economical terms I have never heard even in my native language and becoming a slave to investopedia.com, I've lost half of my hair and holding out for 23 more seems rather like a pipe dream.
For the very same reason why this title is a trip to Based-land, it's also a nightmare to translate. Nevertheless, We choose to sub Japan Inc. We choose to sub Japan Inc in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win, and the others, too. It is for these reasons that I regard the decision last year to shift our efforts in subbing from low to high quality shows as among the most important decisions that will be made during my incumbency in the office of the Perevodildo.
~~Fat chance, but as long as you're not easily intimidated by a trashy video source, 40kbps audio and the Aegisub GUI, or just a knowledgeable economist really, we could always do with an extra timer/quality checker/translation checker/economical consultant or even a typesetter.~~
