Giovanni è un regista sempre meno in sintonia con il mondo che lo circonda. La produttrice del film è sua moglie Paola, che ultimamente sta pensando di lasciarlo anche se Giovanni non ne ha idea. Il regista sta anche scrivendo un altro progetto tratto da un romanzo e allo stesso tempo sogna di girare un film che racconti la storia d'amore quarantennale di una coppia, con molte canzoni italiane a fare da sottofondo.
