Note : Since we've been doing some martial arts stuff, let's not forget to do some actual Chinese martial arts movies, in this case, directed by legendary Hong Kong director and action coreographer Corey Yen. A clip from this film where Cynthia Rothrock kicks the shit out of Karen Sheperd in a shopping mall went moderately viral a while back, and while that's a very cool sequence, this film is full of crazy stunts and high-speed brawls, coupled with a tight script and quite solid performances. Very worth checking out if you like martial arts action.
Jason Ha is a dedicated prosecutor who ends up going somewhat rogue when his mentor is gunned down and his star witness, along with his whole family, is assassinated. Senior Inspector Cindy Si is ordered to crack the case before Ha finished taking the law into his own hands, but unbeknownst to them both, the criminals they've been chasing answer to a shadowy figure that might be closer to them than they thought...
This Vinegar Syndrome remaster is fine, but it could be a bit more saturated and contrasty. Grain is decently controlled, and the image is sharp enough. Both mono tracks sound decent, and if you like Cynthia Rothrock, well, she does both commentary tracks.
