In missione a Istanbul James Bond deve recuperare un file prezioso che contiene i nomi degli agenti infiltrati del MI6. Finito nelle mani di un killer, Bond lo insegue cadendo sotto i colpi del fuoco amico. Precipitato e disperso dentro una cascata, Bond viene dichiarato morto e compianto in un formale necrologio.
