Japan Railway Journal 選　東海道新幹線６０周年高速化技術開発 [BS] 2024年12月04日午前4:00 〜午前4:30 (30分) 東海道新幹線が世界初の高速鉄道として開業して６０年。最高時速３００キロ（山陽新幹線区間）で走行し、分刻みのダイヤで運行する新幹線。その開発の歴史を振り返る。国鉄分割民営化後、東海道新幹線を引き継いだＪＲ東海は、さらなる高速化を目指して車両開発を進め、１９９２年に３００系「のぞみ」による時速２７０キロの運行を可能にした。高速化は騒音との戦いでもあったが、防音壁の設置や車体の改良により、問題を乗り越えてきた。そして１９９６年には、高速試験車両３００Ｘが鉄道車両の日本最速となる時速４４３キロを記録し、現在のＮ７００Ｓにつながる車両の進化に大きく貢献した。
