Episode Plot:	The current state of Beth, Kevin, Kate and Toby's professional lives are presented as they go through or settle into a transition. With the pandemic and doing things via Zoom not working, Beth is forced to close the doors to the dance studio, this setback the second major blow in her dance career as she in the process reflects on what was the end of her life as an aspiring ballerina. She has to decide what her next move will be, whether that be going back to her old life in urban planning or something else. In going into a private screening solely with Foster of the now completed movie, Kevin is reminded that walking out on him is only the latest in a series of his high profile "walk outs", which may negatively affect his career unless this film is a commercial and critical success. He unexpectedly runs into someone from his past as he and his team plot his next move. For the first time in her life, Kate, in teaching music, seems to have found her professional footing. In what has been their less than smooth lifelong mother/daughter relationship, Rebecca can provide some insight into Kate's current life. Kate's professional happiness is something she feels she can't share with Toby in his own unhappiness of being househusband/father in having lost his job. In wanting to feel useful and cognizant of their cash flow, Toby is determined to fix a leaking water pipe in the house despite he not having the inherent skills to do so. Needing to call in some reinforcements, Toby may get another view of unemployment from who was also the proverbial breadwinner in his household. Meanwhile, Madison is nervous about having Rebecca along in her and Kate's wedding dress shopping outing, she getting along with her best friend Kate's mother, but unsure how she is received by her fiancé Kevin's mother.

DESCRIPTION

Rebecca Pearson once had a difficult pregnancy with triplets. The resulting births occurred on the same day as her husband Jack Pearson's thirty-sixth birthday. The lives of Rebecca, Jack and their three offspring - Kevin, Kate and Randall - are presented at different points in time. The Rebecca and Jack stories generally take place during the early stage of their marriage, surrounding the birth of the three children, or at different phases of the children's upbringing, which was not always smooth sailing for any of the five. Separate stories concerning Kevin, Kate and Randall are also presented in their adult years, each who has his or her own baggage resulting from that upbringing: Kevin who was generally the neglected one because he had no outward issues; Kate who has always had weight issues; and Randall, the gifted one, being the visible outsider and being the "non-K" child. These stories may demonstrate the emotional ties that exist not only because of being family, but also because of four of them having the same birthday and some of them having always been together, meaning since conception.
