Elijah Kalgan (John Phillip Law), capo dei servizi di sicurezza, medita di impadronirsi dell'astronave "Southern Sun" adibita al trasporto di un folto gruppo di emigranti verso una lontana colonia spaziale. Dopo aver fatto esplodere una bomba e messo temporaneamente fuori uso la sala comandi, il traditore aspetta con impazienza che le navi spaziali dei suoi seguaci giungano a dargli man forte.
