Anita Dark, real name Anita Perger . Born on April 1, 1975 in Budapest, Anita dreamed of becoming a model. By the age of 15, she had experience performing in local beauty contests, one of which she won for the first time. Three years later, while continuing to be a favorite in regional Hungarian beauty contests, Anita began performing striptease. In 1994, she was crowned Miss Budapest, and her career in striptease took her across Eastern Europe. Anita then moved to Amsterdam, where, as she recalls, "my agent persuaded me to pose nude." A positive decision about the shoot eventually brought her to the attention of director Pierre Woodman, who worked with the studio Private and had discovered such stars as Anita Blond and Nikki Anderson. Anita admits, "At first, I had no intention of doing porn."
At Woodman's first casting, Anita was reserved and shy in front of the camera, even simply taking off her clothes. Anita lost her virginity at 15, but her first experience was so unpleasant that she abstained from sex for two years afterward. Even while living the life of a dancer and nude model, she did not engage in promiscuous relationships, as many teenagers do. Nevertheless, the lure of fame and the accompanying income of a pornographic career overcame the shyness of many a Central European girl in the 1990s, and this was true for Anita as well. Anita recalls this time: "I did it for fun, as a way to earn extra money with friends. I was thrilled by being recognized as sexy and loved by others, BUT I hate being recognized on the street. I can't even count how many people I've had sex with!"
Anita adopted the stage name Sonia Berger and starred in her first hardcore film, "Pornovista" (1994), directed by Pascal Delaunay and co-starring Anita Blond. The actress described her first experience on set as follows: "It was very difficult. It was my first time having anal sex, and the sensations were very unusual!" Anita Blond later became a close friend of our heroine, saying of her: "Aside from Leah Martini, Anita Dark is my favorite actress. Like me, she's from Hungary, we've known each other for a long time, and we're quite close. Every time we film a new movie, we're inseparable. I enjoy sex with her. We probably know each other's bodies better than even our boyfriends." The women often filmed together and undoubtedly enjoyed their partnership, which was made explosive by the undisguised sexuality of the two hottest types—a blonde and a brunette.
Most of Anita's early films were produced by small German and Italian studios. While these films weren't particularly high quality, they did help the future star learn to relax in front of the camera. With this experience, sexual taboos were lifted, and group sex scenes and facials became part of her repertoire. She herself described her most impressive experience as "with three guys... off camera." Her new stage name, Anita Pansy, which existed from 1994 to 1995, was eventually replaced by her final version, Anita Dark. Under this name, she starred in several anal and double penetration scenes. Unfortunately, despite the star's official website claiming she loves anal sex "more than anything else," no such scenes featuring Anita have been released since 1995. After 1995, Anita cemented her status as a major European star, a status that was further reinforced by winning the Mario Salieri Film Award at the end of the year.
Star Anita Dark soon gained immense popularity with audiences, thanks to her petite body, pretty face, and captivating smile. In 1996, Marc Dorcel's VMD began working with her. This was a significant career achievement, as the company was one of the largest European porn studios at the time, with a long list of stars they had launched: Laure Sainclair, Anita Blond, Anita Dark, Maria De Sanchez, Lea Martini, and Olivia Del Rio. By the end of 1996, Anita had won the title of Best European Porn Actress at the Brussels Adult Film Festival. The French edition of Penthouse magazine ranked her among the top seven porn stars of the year; She was joined in the top seven by Laure Sainclair, Anita Blond, Olivia Del Rio, Lea Martini, Coralie, and N'J De Bahia.
Despite her reputation as a hard-working actress, the language barrier of English, and especially French, sometimes created serious difficulties during filming. On the set of L'Experience (1996), one of the most expensive French porn projects ever, starring German actress Kelly Trump, the French-English translator's attempts to convey the director's wishes to Anita in a particular scene were in vain. Each time, Anita listened to the translator's instructions, said, "Yes, yes," and performed something of her own on camera, rather than what the director had requested. Over time, it became clear that her "yes, yes" was evidence of a complete misunderstanding of the director, and her poor command of English prevented her from asking clarifying questions. Having overcome all difficulties, the film was completed and became the most significant work, a masterpiece in the careers of both Anita and Kelly.
Following the example of many of her European colleagues of the time, Anita attempted to conquer the United States. In 1996-1997, she appeared in two films, "Private Stories 9" and "The Voyeur 8."
"One day, three friends and I decided to book a plane ticket to Los Angeles, where there were so many opportunities for both entertainment and earning money. We were so pleased with the trip and the work that we returned many times," Anita recalls. Her close friend, Anita Blond, naturally often accompanied her fellow countrywoman on shoots overseas. This vibrant pair undoubtedly established themselves in the American porn industry. However, they never achieved any major titles or contracts in the States, as audiences favored their homegrown starlets. Realizing the American market was unpromising, Anita soon returned to Europe permanently, where she was again awarded "Best Porn Actress of 1997" at the Brussels Film Festival. In 1999, Anita Dark decided to permanently retire from the porn industry, commenting only briefly: "I'm too tired of it all." To combat her fatigue, she decided to change careers and return to modeling in earnest.
Anita's appearances in various television commercials and print ads didn't bring in the money she hoped for. Seeking greater income, she immigrated to Florida in the United States in 2000. There, she married. She says of her move from Europe: "I like life here, but I can't say I don't miss Europe. I miss it a lot... and, of course, my family back home; it's hard for me to be without them. Still, I like my new life in my adopted country."
Her parents never approved of their daughter's pornographic films. "They're sure I don't do anything like that anymore. They didn't like my work," Dark admits. In fact, she convinced her parents that moving to the United States was necessary to continue her modeling career. In the States, Anita appeared in lingerie commercials and fashion shows as a model, and secretly participated in a nude photo shoot.
She described her plans as follows: "My dream is to become a Hollywood star. I feel I can do it. If not in this life, then in the next." One way or another, she had to return to adult films. With one small stipulation: no scenes with men. This led to several lesbian scenes featuring American actresses, including Amber Lynn. Another means of earning money, which Anita turned to as early as 2003, was stripping and escort services.
Despite her refusal to perform porn, Anita Dark, judging by numerous reviews on escort websites, hasn't lost her sexual fervor. One such comment reads: "Simply put, she's incredible. The man who said money can't buy happiness never got soaked in the sheets with Anita Dark. This girl is absolutely stunning... I mean, I was literally shaking with the realization that I'd actually been in bed with her. Her body... her curves and features seem too good to exist."
Yes, she will forever be remembered as one of the most beautiful women to shine in European porn in the mid-1990s. As Marc Dorcel said of her: "She imbues every moment she's on camera with sensuality and spontaneity. Even if Anita Dark didn't star in porn films, she would certainly grace the covers of magazines."
