Here comes an album with real old time Chicago blues by singer, guitar and harmonica player Tony O, that will delight all blues fans.
Once again Tony gives us fourteen songs in a recording where he wants to pay tribute to legendary harmonica player and great friend James Cotton, he shared countless tours with, and he even travelled to Japan to play some unforgettable shows, besides recording together during the 80’s and 90’s. with the legendary Hubert Sumlin
Tony O now lives in New York, but for many years he played in Chicago. He was member of The Legendary Blues Band, a group that brought together some of the musicians who played with Muddy Waters before he passed away and, although the band did not last long, they released some albums that still are deeply appreciated by good fans. He was also member of Little Mike and The Tornadoes, and he has shared stage with many of Chicago’s blues greats.
All the experience gathered during his long years of career can be found in this new release, that presents fourteen songs, four of them Tony O’s own compositions and the rest good versions of little-known songs coming from great Chicago bluesmen like Muddy Waters, Eddie Arnold, Brook Benton, Luther Johnson, Earl Hooker or Little Walter among others, which get a new life in Tony O’s hands, which allow that these songs are not forgotten, also becoming a fantastic journey through the most genuine Chicago blues.
Tony O is backed by an excellent group of musicians who mastery know all the secrets of “windy city” blues, which contribute to make this album a real treasure for all Chicago blues lovers.
