Il giovane padrone di una villa, ereditata dal padre, vi giunge accompagnato dalla moglie e dal tutore nonché esecutore testamentario, a sua volta accompagnato dalla moglie. Il giovane vive nell'incubo di diventare un maniaco sessuale come il padre. Nella sua memoria, infatti, è ancor vivo il terrificante spettacolo al quale aveva casualmente assistito, ancor fanciullo, quando il padre aveva sadicamente massacrato una donna in una delle stanze della villa. Tornare in contatto con il morboso ambiente, e con numerosi oggetti che stimolano la sua memoria, sembra avvalorare i suoi timori. Ma ancor di più i suoi nervi vengono scossi da una serie di situazioni che sembrano denunciare una permanenza dello spirito del padre nell'ambiente. Un po' alla volta, però, il giovane si rende conto che quanto sta succedendo non è né casuale né sovrannaturale. I suoi sospetti cadono prima sul tutore poi sulla propria moglie, ma.....
