DESCRIPTION
Young Merlin is a teenager, discovering and then learning to master his magical gift. Magister Gaius, King Uther Pendragon's learned court physician to whom he's assigned as humble page, teaches him medicine, coaches his magical self-study, and warns him of Uther's strong aversion to magic. Merlin becomes squire to the noble but imprudent crown prince, Arthur, whose fate is linked with Merlin.

Arriva su Premium Joi la quinta ed ultima stagione di Merlin, il telefilm fantasy che ruota intorno alle vicende del re di Camelot Artù (Bradley James), all'oscuro dei poteri posseduti dal suo giovane amico Merlino (Colin Morgan).
In questa ultima stagione la narrazione raggiungerà il suo apice. E' giunto il momento per Artù di apprendere la verità celata da Merlino, personaggio che ora acquista molta più maturità e pur mantenendo intatto il suo credo, legge gli avvenimenti con una ottica diversa e questo lo porterà a diventare decisamante piu crudele e spietato.
Altri grandi cambiamenti interesseranno il ritorno dei Draghi e il regno della regina Gwen. Ulteriore novità è data dalla ricomparsa di Mordred, interpretato da Alexander Vlahos, personaggio che mostra il suo indissolubile legame con Morgana già dalla prima puntata e che rappresenterà una grande minaccia per Camelot e per il regno di Artù.
In questa ultima serie la narrazione ha assunto forme più attive, sono aumentate le guerre politiche a scapito dei combattimenti contro le creature mitiche, mixando quindi in modo equilibrato magia ed avventura, proponendo così una trama più articolata.
I Cavalieri della Tavola Rotonda ritornano come cast fisso, interpretati da Eoin Macken (Sir Galvano), Rupert Young (Sir Leon), Adetomiwa Edun (Sir Elyan), Tom Hopper (Sir Parsifal), Anthony Head (Uther Pendragon), Janet Montgomery (Principessa Mithian), Lindsay Duncan (Regina Annis) e Gary Lewis (Alator).
I Co-creatori e produttori esecutivi, Johnny Capps e Julian Murphy, hanno confermato la quinta essere l'ultima stagione della serie diventata rapidamente un successo con BBC One.
