Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption is a novella by Stephen King, from his collection Different Seasons (1982), subtitled Hope Springs Eternal. It was adapted for the screen in 1994 as The Shawshank Redemption, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards in 1994, including Best Picture.[1] In 2009, it was adapted for the stage as the play The Shawshank Redemption.[2]
The novella's plotline is heavily based on God Sees the Truth, But Waits by Leo Tolstoy.
