Un paese del Sud Italia naviga in cattive acque: da quando la fabbrica di ceramiche Bontempi ha chiuso, i suoi ex operai giocano al fantacalcio nella storica sezione del centro gestita da Frida, una rappresentante sindacale impegnata nelle giuste cause, mentre la piccola merceria di Vincenzo e di sua moglie Matilde, dove lavora anche la sarta Teresa, non riesce più ad andare avanti. Tutto sembra andare a rotoli quando, all'improvviso, un ciclone vero e proprio investe la vita del paese: Mimì La Petite, ovvero Giuliana, figlia della "buonanima" del Cavalier Bontempi, torna in paese dopo più di vent'anni insieme alle Dyvettes, il suo gruppo di Burlesque, per vendere le proprietà di famiglia...
