Brian is born on the original Christmas, in the stable next door. He spends his life
being mistaken for a messiah.
"Żywot Briana" jest komedią oryginalną i niepowtarzalną. Napisana w sposób
humorystyczny zawiera mimo to wiele ukrytych prawd życiowych. Dzięki ogromnej
dawce absurdu, mimo upływu lat, nadal stanowi klasykę komedii, nie tylko brytyjskiej,
ale i światowej. W wielu krajach film był zabroniony, wszędzie, gdzie się pojawił,
budził kontrowersje, ale to wcale nie umniejsza wartości tego obrazu. Początkowy
tytuł miał brzmieć: "Żądza Chwały". Idealnie odzwierciedlałby charakter
opisywanych wydarzeń, które tak doskonale sparodiował Monty Python. Niesamowite jest
to, że ponad czterdzieści postaci odegranych zostało przez sześciu aktorów, a to
tylko wyostrza absurd tego filmu. Po wielokrotnym obejrzeniu "Żywotu Briana" śmiało
można stwierdzić, że jest to najlepsza satyra w dziejach kina.
