DESCRIPTION
Portland detective, Nick Burkhardt, has seen some gruesome crime scenes, but nothing prepares him for the strange visions he begins seeing: seemingly regular people momentarily transforming into hideous monsters. A visit from his only living relative reveals the truth. Nick has inherited the ability to see supernatural creatures, and as a "Grimm," he is tasked with keeping the balance between mankind and the mythological. A reformed "Big Bad Wolf" becomes his greatest (and also reluctant) ally and confidant. It's not long before his work as a policeman leads Nick to the criminals he once thought were only found in fairy tales.

Grimm draait om Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) die met partner Hank Griffin (Russell Hornsby) voor de politie van Portland werkt. Nick woont samen met zijn vriendin Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) die dierenarts is. Hij is als kind na het overlijden van zijn ouders opgevoed door zijn tante Marie (Kate Burton) die na een aanval op straat
uiteindelijk aan de gevolgen hiervan komt te overlijden. Vlak hiervoor vertelt zij hem echter op haar sterfbed hun familiegeheim… Zijn familie stamt af van de familie Grimm en zijn verantwoordelijk voor de balans tussen de mensen en ‘Wesen’ hier op de wereld. Wesen (het Duitse woord voor wezens) zijn mythische figuren waarover de gebroeders Grimm ook in hun verhalen schrijven. Deze zijn echter niet verzonnen maar gebaseerd op deze wezens die tussen ons mensen rondlopen hier...
... op aarde. Alleen Grimm’s kunnen deze Wesen zien voor wat zij echt zijn en met het overlijden van tante Marie moet Nick deze taak van ‘beschermer’ op zich nemen. Een taak waar hij in eerste instantie moeilijk mee om kan gaan. Maar met de hulp van zijn vriend Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell, bekend van Prison Break), een ‘Blutbad’ die Nick tijdens een van zijn zaken leert kennen, leert Nick gaandeweg wat het precies inhoudt om een Grimm te zijn.

Meanwhile, Juliette begins to communicate with Nick's mom via email and Adalind finds herself much closer to delivering her baby than she previously thought. Elsewhere, Monroe's parents decide to surprise him and Rosalee with an early arrival to Portland after learning some exciting news.
