Dopo la morte di Abbie è giunto il momento per Ichabod di voltare pagina e andare avanti.
Dopo essersi lasciato alle spalle Sleepy Hollow, Crane giunge fino a Washington città in cui continuerà la sua personale caccia ai fenomeni paranormali.
Ad aiutarlo nelle indagini il giovane Seth, esperto analista comportamentale, e Anna, ex militare un po' scettica nei confronti degli strani eventi occulti con cui si ritroverà a dover fare i conti.
La nuova vita di Ichabod, però, non sarà di certo tranquilla. Ad ostacolare i suoi piani arriverà un nuovo nemico, il temibile Big Bad
