DESCRIPTION
'Wish I Was Here' is the story of Aidan Bloom, a struggling actor, father and husband, who at 35 is still trying to find his identity; a purpose for his life. He winds up trying to home school his two children when his father can no longer afford to pay for private education and the only available public school is on its last legs. Through teaching them about life his way, Aidan gradually discovers some of the parts of himself he couldn't find.

TRAMA:
Il film racconta la storia di Aidan Bloom (Braff), un attore trentacinquenne in difficoltà, padre e marito, che sta cercando di trovare se stesso e uno scopo nella sua vita. Lui e la moglie riescono a malapena a vivere con le loro entrate mentre Aidan passa le sue giornate a fantasticare, sognando di diventare un futuristico cavaliere spaziale, realizzando il suo sogno d'infanzia. Quando il padre, acciaccato, non è più in grado di pagare la scuola privata per i suoi due figli (di 5 e 12 anni), e l'unica scuola pubblica disponibile è allo stremo, Aidan accetta con riluttanza di farli studiare a casa. All'inizio viene creato un po' di caos, fino a quando Aidan decide di rottamare il curriculum accademico tradizionale e di crearne uno suo. Insegnando ai figli la vita a modo suo, Aidan gradualmente scopre alcune parti di sé che non riusciva a trovare.
