A pediatric trauma ward nurse discovers a powerful spirit residing deep in the bowels of her hundred-year old hospital. After several confrontations she struggles to determine if it's a benign former patient, or a sinister presence working to trap the souls of recently deceased children. A young Scottish immigrant reluctantly accepts work at a notorious psychiatric hospital undergoing modernization. The massive renovation disturbs long- dormant spirits, provoking a sequence of paranormal personalities eager to make their disapproval known.
