Новая гитара ознаменовала полное изменение музыкального направления. За следующие несколько лет Маркони как следует 'вызубрил' выбранный им новый инструмент, решив обойтись без формального музыкального образования и помощи педагогов. Вскоре Аль был готов совершенствовать свое мастерство при помощи наиболее сложных с технической точки зрения упражнений в рамках популярного классического материала.
